The new Guardian University Guide for 2015 has just been published and it contains some excellent news for Biosciences courses at the University of Gloucestershire.
The league table for biosciences ranks us 11th out of the 99 institutions in the UK that run Biosciences courses. That puts UoG ahead of many of the “big guns” in the Biosciences world, including many of the Russell Group of Universities.
Delving more deeply into the statistics reveals that @uglosbioscience is the only BIO course in the league table to have either 100% student satisfaction with course or 100% student satisfaction for teaching – let alone 100% for both categories. We also topped the “satisfied with feedback” list by some margin (95.8%; the next highest is 88%) and share 2nd place for “value added” (students’ degree grades relative to their entry grades), showing our courses make a real difference to our students.
The course team are delighted with this. Everyone associated with the course – academics, technicians and administrators – works extremely hard to make the course and teaching the best it can be, and it is wonderful to have this recognised by the people that matter the most: our students.
These are exciting times for @uglosbioscience. We’re looking forward to welcoming the first students on our two new courses: BSc Ecology and Environmental Science, and MSc Applied Ecology.
